John and Richard have known each other since 1993, but did not realize how much their work had in common until three years ago, when they began working on a collaborative project, "Place of Mind." This exhibit juxtaposed Baily's abstract paintings with Blanco's poetry to create subtle dialogs left open for the viewer's interpretation.

After capturing audiences in Miami and Atlanta for decades, Mariachi Band Garibaldi made it to Montgomery, AL, in 1997 and has been entertaining ever since. The group's performances include music from throughout Mexico as well as explanations of the traditional dress, musical style and instrumentation of Mariachi music.

Ondine Geary

Living alternately in Memphis and London, Ondine Geary has been recognized for her work as a dance advocate, performer and choreographer. Her choreography, "Cat's Eye" was inspired by a Margaret Atwood novel of the same title. Ondine says of her craft, "Dancing enables an honesty I do not find elsewhere in my life."

New York's Ward-Nasse gallery will feature "Boxing Katrina," now until January 8th, the exhibit features works made of found objects by Gulf-Coast resident and assemblage artist, Vicki Niolet. Niolet's artwork can also be juxtaposed with two books of photography, Parting Shots and West Side Stories: Before, During and After Katrina which she compiled and edited in order to chronicle the destruction of Hurricane Katrina in her area.
