Showcases

male and female dancersPresenters are seeking just the right attraction to excite their audiences, and you can be the one that catches their eye. Whether you are an established artist trying to connect with new venues or an emerging artist entering into the touring industry, showcasing at the Performing Arts Exchange is a great way to have your work seen by presenters as they decide which artists to book for their upcoming seasons.

This year, we have revised the showcase adjudication process. Our intent was to create a curatorial sense to our evenings of showcases. Applicants were taken through a two-step process and discussed by the entire panel. Showcase applicants are judged on the following criteria in order of importance: Artistic Merit, Originality, Promotional Material and Demonstrated Readiness to Tour.  (Showcase Schedule will be available July 2008.)

During PAE 2007 Brad Stephenson of the Center for Arts Management and Technology was our roving reporter.  Brad spoke with Exhibitor Barbara Sandek of Theatreworks USA and here is what she had to say. (7m:29s)
