Technical Assistance

Dance Troup performing: Man lifting woman with a man in a wheelchairIn our continuing effort to support and promote the arts in the South, the Southern Arts Federation (SAF) with support from the National Endowment for the Arts offers a limited number of Technical Assistance grants for non-profit, performing arts presenting organizations in our nine-state region.

This program encourages performing arts presenting organizations to contract with an outside consultant for intensive work to strengthen the applicant arts organization. Examples of consultation activities funded by the Technical Assistance grant program include: short and long term planning, board development, staff professional development, program assessment, marketing and promotion, and grantsmanship. The maximum request is 50% of the consultant fee, up to $2,500.

  • Applications are still being accepted for FY2008 projects (ending June 30, 2008).
  • Presenters can apply for FY2009 projects (July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009) beginning in May.
  • Applications must be postmarked at least 60 days prior to the project start date
