South Arts is proud to announce the creation and tour of a new exhibit through American Masterpieces, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts.
Tradition/Innovation: American Masterpieces of Southern Craft and Traditional Art was organized by South Arts and features 120 artworks created by masters living and working in the South today.
Tradition/Innovation will tour to nine museums throughout the Southeast, March 2008 through spring 2010. American Masterpieces, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, is a major initiative to acquaint Americans with the best of their cultural and artistic legacy. Among the artists in the exhibit are six recipients of the National Endowment for the Arts’ National Heritage Fellowship, the country’s highest honor for traditional artists.

TEXT PANELS: 30 artist bio panels; 4 text panels (includes title & credits panel)
SPACE REQUIREMENTS: 800-1,000 square feet
SECURITY: Medium; security hoods required for small/fragile artwork
CRATES: 10 SHIPPING: Designated carrier
SHIPPING FEES: In-region host venues pay incoming shipping; out-of-region host venues pay full, roundtrip shipping.
SHIPPING SUBSIDY (available to in-region venues ONLY): In-region venues are eligible for a $1,000 shipping subsidy.
RENTAL FEE: $2,500—4 weeks; $3,000—8 weeks; $3,500—12 weeks
