2009-2010 Call for Host Organizations
Do you represent a theatre, cinema, museum, college, university, arts council, performing arts center, or festival that is looking for a low-cost, high-quality program that will engage independent film audiences in your region? If your answer is yes, then the Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival is the perfect program for your organization.
About the Program
The Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival features recent short films by filmmakers living and working in the Southeastern United States and is the nation’s only tour of Southern films. Juried for their artistic merit by a panel of media arts professionals, these engaging short films are available to venues throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The 32rd Annual Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival will be available to tour from September 2009 through May 2010 as a self-contained, three-hour film festival that may be enjoyed in a single afternoon or evening.

South Arts
As the coordinating organization for the 2009-2010 Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival, South Arts will:

Contract with 12 media artists to screen their works as part of the Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival.

Provide the host organization with two copies of a DVD containing all 12 Short Circuit films with continuous playback.

Provide the host organization with access to digital versions of publicity materials for the Short Circuit program, including but not limited to logos, posters, fliers, and model press releases.

Provide all stipends to Short Circuit filmmakers.
Host Organizations
Organizations that host the 2009-2010 Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival are expected to:

Coordinate one screening for the 2009-2010 Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival.

Provide advance publicity and promotion for Short Circuit in the Host’s locale, including but not limited to print media, online media, radio and television with proper credit provided to South Arts.

Provide a qualified projectionist for the Short Circuit program as well as clean, well-operating projection equipment.

Ensure that the exhibition site is accessible to persons with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Complete an evaluation form provided by South Arts for the Short Circuit program.

Pay a $500 touring fee which covers honoraria paid directly to the filmmakers, development of promotional materials for the tour, and production and shipping of the Short Circuit DVD. The touring fee will be invoiced to the host organization and must be paid prior to the delivery of the Short Circuit DVD and promotional materials.

To bring the 2009-2010 Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival to your community, please complete the online Short Circuit inquiry form. This is a very short form. There is no fee or obligation for interested organizations to complete the inquiry form for the 2009-2010 Short Circuit.
Notification
South Arts will contact organizations that complete the inquiry form to host Short Circuit as soon as the information is processed, typically within one week of receipt of the form.
