The Center for Puppetry Arts will present the International Puppetry Festival, July 14-19, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. Curated by the Center’s Executive Director Vince Anthony in collaboration with Artistic Director Jon Ludwig, the festival will showcase some of the most innovative puppet companies currently performing on the world stage. Building on the foundation of the festival, SAF wants presenters from across the South to have the unique opportunity to bring internationally-recognized puppetry companies to their local communities. Through performances and educational activities, audiences will experience the global nature of puppetry and its diverse theatrical possibilities.
For specific touring dates, company contact information, and a detailed description of each show and company, please use the above links. Interested presenters should contact the companies directly to discuss fees. In addition to the public performance(s), the grant requires an educational component. The maximum request is $4,000. The grant requires a 2:1 match for the grant amount; up to 50% can be an in-kind match. For example, if the project expenses total $6,000, an applicant can request $4,000 and must provide a $2,000 match, with a minimum of $1,000 as the cash match.
