South Arts is pleased to announce the availability of the Southern Visions Shipping Subsidy Grant Program made possible through the National Endowment for the Arts.

 

 Eligibility:

  • To apply, organizations must be a non-profit located in one of South Arts' partner states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.  Eligible organizations will not receive more than two (2) shipping subsidy grants in the course of a fiscal year.  
  • Organizations must host a traveling exhibit from South Arts' Southern Visions, The Southern Arts & Culture Traveling Exhibits Program roster between July 2010-June 2011.  View Southern Visions exhibits on the left side of this page. 

Exhibit Shipping Subsidy Scale (determined by number and weight of shipping crates):

  • Faces & Stories: A Portrait of Southern Writers - $500
  • The Photographs of P.H. Polk - $500
  • Portrait of Spirit - $500
  • Rhythm & Roots, Southern Music Traditions - $200
  • Storybook Look, Illustrations by Southern Artists - $500
  • Tradition/Innovation, American Masterpieces of Southern Craft & Traditional Art - $1,000

Responsibilities:

If selected as a recipient of a Southern Visions Shipping Subsidy Grant, Host organizations will:

  • Receive an invoice for the full amount of incoming shipping from South Arts' designated shipping company.  This fee is to be paid directly to South Arts' designated shipper by the Host.  South Arts will reimburse all shipping fees, less the shipping subsidy award, upon receipt of an invoice.
  • Use credit line and logos on all printed and electronic publicity materials.  Copies of all materials must be included with your final report form.
  • Write to your federally elected officials (Senators/Congresspersons) to inform them of South Arts' and National Endowment for the Arts' support of the project.  Copies of signed letters must be included with your final report form (sample letter will be provided).
  • Complete and submit a final report form within thirty days of the exhibit's departure. 

Timeline:

  • Grants are currently available for the fiscal year FY11, or until funds are depleted.
  • The first exhibits booked will be the first funded (pending eligibility)
