The first Southeastern Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit will be held March 14-15, 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee!
Beyond Big Cities: Creative Placemaking in Southern Small Towns and Rural Communities is presented by The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking in partnership with South Arts and ArtPlace America, and is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Arts and cultural leaders, public officials, community leaders, organizational decisionmakers and municipal and economic planners from the Southeast – and beyond – are encouraged to attend. You will find this convening rich in ideas, networking, and successful examples of highlighting and leveraging the creative assets in rural communities and small towns to attract and retain residents, creatives and businesses, and bring visitors to experience the unique nature of your place. Chattanooga and its region offers a wide variety of local demonstration projects involving art in unused spaces, water features, historical spaces, sculpture parks and other public art.
