About the Artist
St. Louis-based, Janet Evra’s tour includes: Janet Evra - vox and bass; Carlos "Scooter" Brown Jr. - saxophones; Will Buchanan - guitar; Tim Moore - drums
Evra has toured extensively with Will Buchanan on guitar. They have performed together at venues including Cafe Coda in Madison, WI, Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, IL, Caffe Vivace in Cincinnati, OH, and Rudy's Jazz Room in Nashville, TN. Will and Evra have also performed together in Europe at Sofar shows in Sweden and Switzerland and he performed as part of The Janet Evra Trio at the 2019 Deva Jazz Festival in Romania. Janet has performed regularly in the St. Louis area at venues including Jazz St. Louis, The Sheldon, Blue Strawberry, The Dark Room and the St. Louis Art Fair. Though these engagements have included this trio (with Carlos Brown Jr. on sax and Tim Moore on drums), the group has not had a prior opportunity to tour. This tour will include five venues on the East Coast and upper Midwest. This will be a major professional and personal step forward for Evra and the band, and she looks forward to touring to these new venues, new cities, and reaching new audiences with this music.
