Five, A Mother’s Journey explores the journey of motherhood for artist Talamieka Brice. In the film she reconciles her history of being black in America juxtaposed to raising a son in the current climate.
Talamieka Brice is an international award-winning visual artist, poet, successful business owner, mother & former military spouse. Her company was started on the battlefields of Afghanistan when her husband, Former Army Sgt Charles Brice, photojournalist stated he wanted to tell a different story. Mr. Brice had spent years as a paratrooper, and an Honor Guard for the military performing the final rites for deceased warriors. He lost comrades on the field and wanted to focus on the living. The two visual artists who met in college combined forces to create an award-winning marketing and advertising agency, Brice Media.
