Campaign Overview

Fueling the Future is a people-powered campaign that invites individuals to directly support artists and culture bearers across the region. In honor of our 50th Anniversary, South Arts is raising $50,000 to provide 50 artists with $1,000 in unrestricted funding. 

The South is one of the nation's richest regions for creativity, tradition, and cultural leadership. Yet arts and culture continue to be disproportionately underfunded compared to many other parts of the country. 

That gap means fewer opportunities for arts organizations and even fewer for individual artists. 

This moment is an opportunity to change that. 

As part of South Arts' 50th Anniversary, we are working toward a shared goal of raising $5,000 for each Southern state we serve, uniting our region in support of the artists and culture bearers who shape our communities. Together, we will send a clear message: Southern artistry is unique, meaningful, and worth investing in. 

South Arts will provide five unrestricted $1,000 grants to individual artists in each of our nine states, along with an additional five grants awarded across the region to artists demonstrating exceptional merit in their artistic medium.
