Artist Statement
For the Fried Fruit Gallery Space, I will create an installation from my ongoing project Touch Tank - an immersive installation inspired by coral, fungi, science fiction, and the sensory experience of aquarium touch tanks. Combining sculptural oil paintings, digital pattern-making, collage, and mural work, the project creates a speculative environment where viewers can reflect on how our understanding of nature is shaped by memory, media, and technology. Up close, the work invites intimate interaction through texture, pattern, and layered surfaces; from the street, the gallery will glow like a surreal aquarium filled with otherworldly forms. This body of work is inspired by coral, fungi, science fiction, and the sensory experience of aquarium touch tanks.
