For our BLK Docs series, The Luminal will showcase the documentary "Grandmaster," directed by Christopher Everett [SC premiere]. In it, former karate champion Victor Moore struggles through declining health to preserve the martial arts that have defined his life. "Grandmaster" illuminates Moore's legacy and reveals martial arts' positive impact on Black communities and culture since the 1960s. A Q&A with the director will follow, with a two-day multimedia exhibition of Black martial artists.
