The Shelby County Arts Council presents "The Promise of Living/The Tender Land" by Atlanta-based Selma native, Jerry Siegel, featuring photos of Southern artists from his monograph "Facing South" and examples of artwork by some of the featured artists, alongside street and landscape photography from his monograph "Black Belt Color;" a public conversation with Siegel and curator Mark Sloan; art activities with area schools; an artist led workshop; and a new publication related to the exhibition.
