Christian Brothers University collaborated with 10 other organizations to host Memphis Reads, a month-long community read based on Markus Zusak's book The Book Thief, culminating in a two-day residency by the author including: two community talks and Q&A for the general public, one private event for a select group of 1,200 Shelby County middle school students, as well as parallel events hosted by each of the partner organizations.
