DeLesslin George-Warren (Roo) from the Catawba tribe will conduct a two-day residency at Parkview Village Elementary with K-5 students, which will include an introductory storytelling time and explanation of the Cherokee tribe and basketry, and will segway into an activity where students will learn about the basic principles of basketry and make baskets out of historic Kudzu material. After the residency, a public collaborative presentation with Roo and Dr. Stephen Criswell, and will take place.
