About the Artist

Hillai Govreen is a clarinetist, saxophonist, and composer based in New York. Since graduating from The New School with honors (2020), Hillai recorded a duo album "Allusions" with pianist Nitsan Kolko and wrote music for an additional album, a nonet consisting of woodwinds and strings. Hillai has played and collaborated with musicians including George Cables, Arturo O’Farill, Anat Cohen, George Colligan, Steve Cardenas, and others. She plays regularly in NYC at various venues such as Dizzy's, Birdland, Mezzrow, Ornithology, National Sawdust, and more. Hillai is a P. Mauriat endorsing artist for clarinet and saxophone.

Charles Goold is one of New York City's hardest-working jazz drummers of his generation. Born to an American jazz saxophonist father and a Haitian immigrant mother, Goold has used these influences to shape his voice and message in the jazz community. Goold has performed with a wide variety of acts across varying styles, from Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, John Hendricks, and Johnny O’Neal to rap icons Cam’ron, Talib Kweli, and Ghostface Killah.

Ben Meigners has been an integral part of the West Village jazz scene since moving to New York in 2002. Meigners has been a member of groups led by Andy Bey, Freddie Redd, Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Cobb, Slide Hampton, Frank Wes, and has been mentored by Dennis Irwin.

Born in Vigo (Spain), Yago Vazquez has been an active member of the New York City music scene since 2008 after receiving a scholarship to attend The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where he graduated with honors in 2010. Throughout his career, Yago Vazquez has worked with many internationally recognized artists, including Reggie Workman, Billy Harper, David Schnitter, Jeff Hirshfield, Scott Lee, Gilad Hekselman, Ingrid Jensen, Joe Martin, Charles Altura, Drew Gress, Jazzmeia Horn, Jamie Baum, Logan Richardson, and Harish Raghavan, among many others.
