About the Artist

Pianist and composer Javier Santiago is one of the promising voices in the international music scene today. He has played with some of the top musicians in the jazz scene such as Herbie Hancock, Terrace Martin, Louis Cole, Alex Isley, Jonathan Kreisberg, Azar Lawrence, Theo Croker, Kenneth Whalum, Aja Monet, John Raymond, Sheila Jordan and Yosvany Terry. Santiago’s debut album, Phoenix (2018) on Ropeadope Records was named the “#1 Jazz Album of the Year” by Vinyl Me, Please. Javier has become a notable force in both the beat and hip-hop scenes as well as the jazz world. In addition to being a pianist and sideman, Santiago is also an accomplished educator, arranger and producer/beatmaker. He was an alumnus of The Herbie Hancock Institute (UCLA), The Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. He was a finalist in the 2015 American Jazz Pianist competition, and a recipient of the 2016 McKnight Fellowship for Musicians. He was also selected to participate in the 14th Annual Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program in 2011. Javier is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Justin Brown is a drummer and composer from Oakland, California. His journey so far has seen him play with a multitude of artists including Thundercat, Herbie Hancock, Flying Lotus, Esperanza Spalding, Kenny Garrett and Ben Williams.

Originally from Lecce, Italy, Luca Alemanno is considered by critics and musicians “among the finest young and modern jazz musicians that currently Italy has to offer”. He was awarded 1st Prize at the 2009 European Bass day. At the age of 19, he received 2 scholarships to attend Berklee School of Music (Boston). He achieved a diploma in Classical Double Bass at “T.Schipa Conservatory of Music” (Lecce) and a second one in Jazz Electric Bass at “G.Martucci Conservatory of Music” (Salerno). In 2016 Luca won the audition at the world renewed “Thelonoius Monk Institute of Jazz Performance” class of 2018 in Los Angeles. The panel was composed by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jimmy Heat, Kenny Burrell among the others. Luca is the first Italian musician who achieved this goal.

Touring, recording and performing all over the world, he has played with notables such as Stanley Jordan, Miguel Zenon, Simon Moullier and Jonathan Kreisberg.
