Leyla McCalla will provide a virtual conversation moderated by Louisville author and historian, Michael L. Jones, discussing the importance of historical reference and immigrant influence on traditional folk music of the South, promoted in partnership by Kentucky Performing Arts & the Louisville Folk School. Leyla will also visit Louisville for an outdoor performance preceded by a community conversation from Michael discussing his new book on the history of Black musicians in Louisville.
