Janie Verret Luster will be a featured artist in the Louisiana Native Basketry section of the Newcomb Art Museum's upcoming exhibition Core Memory which connects computational processes to handmade processes. As a master palmetto weaver and cultural preservationist, Ms. Verret Luster will lead a public program and focusing on traditions, techniques, challenges and opportunities of the United Houma Nation, and an educational workshop demonstration of her celebrated techniques.
