The 2019 Mildred Haun Conference "Like Mountains, Like Mildred: Exploring Appalachia's Gentle Strength" will feature writers workshops in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and songwriting, a keynote speech by novelist Terry Roberts, scholarly presentations, a reader's theater performance of Mildred Haun's The Hawk's Done Gone, a schedule reading from The First Story by C. Bradley Owens, and musical performances by the ETSU Old Time Pride Band and the WSCC High Lonesome Senate Bluegrass Band.
