Montana Hobbs is a young banjo player from Eastern Kentucky, specializing in the old-time stylings of the Eastern Kentucky coalfields. She graduated from Morehead State University's Kentucky Center for Traditional Music as the first woman to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Traditional Music, alongside her longtime musical collaborator in The Local Honeys, Linda Jean Stokley. Preservation and education of traditional music is a cornerstone of Hobbs' work, sharing and creating music in the modern era.
